IMOBILE- Dare to code for cellphones-

iMobile event aimed primarily at the development of software for mobile phones . The programming was done on Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) platform. Students simulated the mobile phone on PC . The connectivity was provided by the IEEE 802.5 Ethernet network present in the Computer Lab. Students were judged on the basis of the number of features they have included in their. Deliverable.. Most of the groups demonstrated the SMSing service , Screen Savers, Customizable Menu, Ring Tones, Animations and Multimedia Messaging(MMS) and other features of the day to day mobiles..
The 1st position was secured by the group of Abhinav Krishna , Shashank Srivastava , Abhishek while 2nd position was bagged by Anshu and Alok.

The event was coordinated by Abhishek Bharadwaj, Nishant Satyam, Sandeep Prakash and Spriha. The judges at the event were Prof. Ashish Ranjan and Prof. P. Kumar

Rumours and Truth@TECHNIKA 2009

Hi friends

We have been coming across numerous rumors regarding TECHNIKA ,past couple of days.
Let me make it clear that there are no reasons why TECHNIKA will not be organized.The only problem is that we wish CM to be the Chief Guest;depending on his availability the event dates may get oscillated, but it is more likely to be between 15-18 February.Once we get confirmation from Chief Minister we shall declare the final dates.
Since we are organising for the first time hence we are facing some difficulties,but that never means that we shall cease to proceed.Please don't respond to such rumors.

You will be happy to know that we are simultaneously organizing an alumni meet on the date of inauguration of TECHNIKA, so it is going to be more interesting than what we have thought .
I have heard some gossips in the BIT Community about some cultural event being organized in parallel to Technika.If that goes true ,I dare say it will a memorable extravaganza .

Hey r u crazy for coding......don't you feel u have the fire in you.......its the time to intermingle with the logic mess.......u'll have to form a group maximum of two.....there will be an elimination round.........if u qualify then u r eligible for a participation certificate as well as you will have a final round in which u'll have to solve the given set of problems with constrained resources(e.g. time)....and the person with efficient and perfect solution alone can win the stake........the prize money is worth Rs. 5000/-....well u'll be notified that later.....in case of tie.....the team with a obvoious time efficient code can tk the money with it.

Registration for events started

Dear Friends

From today you can register online for the events you wish to participate(except for coderash,openspace and iquest)

The process is as follows

First you have to signup . After that you need to visit the events page and click register for it on right side.A message will be displayed confirming registration.

If you wish to participate in teams ask all your team members to register for that particular  event.

Then Click on "Create a team" and enter the user ids of all the team members. A confirmation will be displayed.If you neglect any criteria  as mentioned above you will not be able to register your team.Please adhere to the maximum limit of team members  in an event set by the organizers.If you exceed  that number, the excess members will be dropped out.

One bug has crept in the design of whole registration process.When you register your first team  it is not displayed in the list of teams however subsequent teams are displayed.Dont worry after it.We shall fix it very soon.

Dear friends

So only three event details are left and will be updated by tomorrow.
Start preparing rigorously for it. We have three events for robotics and two for Mechanique
If you want to use your own innovative ideas for designing something new, go for SUPERMODEL.
Registration for the events will begin soon.Don't wait for it.We are in the process of developing codes for registration.By 10th I am sure it shall start.
